Marah, tell us more about yourself!
I’m Marah! 25 years old and currently live in Atlanta! I grew up in a very small town in Kentucky, but always knew I wanted to live in a city. NYC has my heart but Atlanta is definitely home for now. I have 2 brothers, I am the middle child. A natural red head, the only one in my family and I have a cat, named Georgia. My faith in God makes me who I am and I love feeling inspired and inspiring other people. I hope that through sharing my journey and things that I love on my social platform, some of you can resonate and connect with that and feel encouraged to do the same.

What inspired you to start a blogging?
As a Mass Communications major in college, I learned that I love people, creating, and writing and telling stories. I was bored working in an office after college and desperately needed a creative outlet. I decided to combine my love for fashion and writing and create MarahCAR, a personal style blog. It has continued to grow and evolve from there.
Why is fashion is important to you?
Fashion allows me to express myself in a way that is so true and pure to who I am. It has instilled confidence in me that I never had before and encouraged me to embrace new opportunities, differences, and pushed me to closer to figuring out my true self.

What led your career in styling and content creation? Explain your journey that got you to this point in your life?
I have been extremely blessed since moving to Atlanta, to have had certain people placed in my life that have been so crucial to my successes thus far. It has 100% been a God thing, but hasn’t always been easy. My first year in ATL, I worked in a very high-stress environment serving at a nice restaurant. I truly sacrificed my emotional, psychical, and mental well-being so that I could make enough money to stay here and to continue pursuing my blog. When moving here, I had no idea I would be doing all of the things I am doing now. Working as an influencer, wardrobe stylist, marketer, content creator, and writer. But I truly believe that when you put yourself out there, that when you just decide to go for it and you work hard, good things come. It may not be exactly what you thought it would be, but sometimes it is even better. I am still learning new things in each area of what I do daily and my plan is to just never stop learning and to never stop working hard. The rest will work itself out.

There are so many women who wants to start a blog. What tips can you provide to women about blogging?
Know what the purpose of the blog is and whatever it is, whether it is to discuss mental health or whether you just want to show what you wear everyday or maybe where to shop for affordable clothes - whatever your purpose is, figure that out first because everything else should align with that. I really just now feel like I am coming into what I truly want MarahCAR to be and represent. While everything will evolve and change overtime, I think first figuring out your WHY will help you figure out everything else.
What inspired you to become an influencer for many brands?
I just always wanted to share my love for fashion and to encourage and inspire women to wear what they want and what makes them feel good. It’s been really awesome that I have been able to partner with some cool brands and other influencers along the way but my main goal has always just been to connect with people. Whatever else comes from that is an added bonus!

Why do you believe that Women’s Empowerment is important?
Now, more than ever, with social media and the pressure women put on each other and themselves, it is so important to be able to stand together and encourage and support one another. At the end of the day, we all face the same issues, insecurities, and even a lot of the same traumas. We will only grow into better women by 1) standing up for ourselves and our rights and 2) standing up for each other. We can’t do one without the other.

What are some future goals that you have for yourself?
Write a book, maybe two. Become a creative director for a brand I love. Start my own brand - of some sort. Move to NYC. Travel more. Love myself and help others do the same. Inspire large groups of women. Become 100% financially stable, debt free, and independent in the next year or so. Yeah, idk. I have a lot of goals. Haha!

Where do you see yourself in the next 5-10 years?
I think this is such a hard question because I honestly don’t know. Each year just keeps getting better and God leads me into more of who I am and what my purpose is, but where that will take me? I don’t know yet. I hope to still be writing and blogging, maybe even full-time? Who knows!

The purpose of the FabuLuxe platform is to help women feel fabulous and sophisticated. What advice or words of encouragement that you can give to our readers about feeling fabulous as a woman?
Every single woman on Earth is different and unique. I saw a quote once that said “we don’t compare flowers and sunsets, both are equally beautiful in their own way, so why do you compare yourself to her?” Or something along those lines, and it truly hit me. Comparison and even sometimes competition can be the thief of joy and contentment. The more you grow into who you are and learning to love that person, the more content and satisfied all areas of your life will be.
