FORGIVENESS EQUALS FREE OF BONDAGE

forgiveness God love shalon your purpose

Meet Shalon Gillon on Forgiveness! Read about how it is important to forgive and how you'll mentally become FREE because of forgiveness!

Shalon, tell us more about yourself!

My name is Shalon Gillon and I am from a small town in MS called Amory. I am 26 years old. I am also a Triplet. My other 2 sisters live in Starkville, Ms. I moved to Oxford, MS in 2014 to go back to school after failing out of college in 2011. I am now an Elementary Education Major. I want to eventually own my own daycare. I enjoy blogging and uplifting people.

You created a blog known as Seventy x 7. What does your platform stands for?

My platform stands for Forgiveness. No matter what someone has done to you, and no matter what you have done to someone; Forgiveness is always in Order. It actually originated from a Scripture in the Bible.

St. Matthew 18: 21-22

21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

What inspired you to begin Seventy x 7?

I love to write. When I was younger, I use to write poetry. As I got older I started to look more into blogging. I finally made the step to create my own blog on August 17, 2017. The love and support I got from my very first post really encouraged me to keep it going. It allowed me to really get those deepest feelings as well as wisdom and encouragement to others out of my head. I have always been a person to uplift and encourage and this was the perfect platform for me. I so desperately wanted people to read my blogs and really take heed to them, that in March of 2018 I created apparel to go along with it. Everybody loves a good T shirt; especially one with an awesome meaning behind it. So not only is Seventy x 7 my Blog site but it is now also my T shirt apparel line. I am so proud of the success of it.

What does your Seventy x 7 means to you?

Seventy x 7 to me shows me how far I have come in my own personal journey. I originally started writing as an escape. If I was hurt, I wrote about being hurt. If I was in Love, I wrote about being in Love. To be honest I also had some very dark writings. Especially when I was in a dark place. After resorting to every other outlet there was, I noticed that writing was the only one that was actually fulfilling. It makes me happy. In a way , it SET ME FREE! The Foundation of Seventy x 7 means everything to me.

There are a lot of women who are struggling with unforgiveness. Explain the importance of forgiving others and how it make an impact in their life.

I can't stress Forgiveness enough. It is literally the KEY to life. Like I always say, "Unforgiveness is a slow death but Forgiveness is the ONLY cure." When I dealt with unforgiveness, I was uninspired, unmotivated, lazy and literally rushed my days away. I would wake up and anticipate the time when I can lay back down and go back to sleep. Unforgiveness drains the LIFE out of you. You feel purposeless; and that's when depression steps in. It is so important to pick yourself up from that place. Life is too short and there is no way we can ever get TIME back. Trials and Tribulations aren't meant to last forever.

You are a very motivating person. What keeps you motivated and what advice would you give to other women who needs motivation?

It may sound cliche, but what keeps me motivated is GOD's Love for me and His plan for my Life. If it was up to me, I would have let go a long time ago, but GOD's love, like the song says; "reached way down" and picked me up.. His Word is my Life line and when I get burdened down with the cares of life, that is what I resort to. Even when I am Up, that is what I resort to. Anything you want to know about handling Life's situations is in the Bible. A relationship with God is the BEST relationship you can have. He is my greatest source of motivation. I also thank him for physical beings who have kept me motivated and lifted. I have a host of good friends, my Family and wonderful leaders and mentors.

What are some future goals that you have for yourself and Seventy x 7?

Like I stated Earlier, I majored in Elementary Education, So I definitely would like to utilize that degree for the experience. My long term goal is to open up my own daycare. I will have a daycare one day. As for seventy x 7, I would love for my Blogs to become successful. I want it to reach people all around the world. I also want to have christian store world wide. Things that would be in the store would include, a lot of apparel, hats, journals, pens, bibles, bracelets and etc.

Where do you see yourself and your blog in the next 5-10 years?

I have been thinking about relocating to Nashville, TN for a while now. So for the next 5- 10 years, I can definitely see myself there with a family and successful businesses. I plan to see the manifestation of my hard work, dedicated and God's purpose for my life in the next 5-10 years.

The purpose of the FabuLuxe platform is to help women feel fabulous and sophisticated. What advice or words of encouragement that you can give to our readers about feeling fabulous as a woman?

Like my Leader, Pastor Deona Benson always say, "Women are natural nurturers". It is in us. To be able to create so many beautiful things, even life itself is amazing. Once we think something up, it is almost impossible not to see it flourish. So Women, please do not hold back what you can add to this world. Don't ever feel like you don't have anything to contribute. Someone out there needs to hear your voice, listen to your song, read your book, wear your apparel, join your weight loss movement, wear your jewelry, buy your painting, book for company for events, etc. Find your Purpose and turn around and help the next Women find hers. Lets learn to empower and support one another. God has a plan for each and every one of you. I love you all and I am excited to hear and see what WE do next. Pastor Deona Benson says it best, "The Time is Now".
