YOUR THOUGHTS AFFECTS YOUR ACTIONS...YOUR LIFE

mindset positive thinking

Meet Sarah! She has inspired many women by teaching the importance of positive mindset! Your mindset can change your life! Read about how important it is and ways to start a new life with your mind!

What is #MadwellMindset?

MadwellMindset was formed to use as a hashtag for people to follow my mindset, thoughts, and beliefs.

You are a very positive person. The quotes that you have posted on social media has impacted many lives! Why is it important for us to condition ourselves with positive thinking?

I believe it is important for us to condition ourselves with positive thinking, because what you feed yourself is what will flourish within you. It is easy to be negative and see the bad in things around you, but the true beauty is when you find the good and positive that flourishes in this world. If you think about it, when you have a positive outlook and see the best in all things, you then tend to have more and more incredible days. Life isn’t out to get us, it’s out to benefit us, teach us, and there to help grow ourselves.

An example of this being: at the beginning of the year I sprained the sole of my foot. For about two days I was a couch potato and in a total slump, but then I stopped making myself a victim and asked myself “what do you think you can learn from this as well as how can you benefit from this?” I came to a ‘solution state of mind’ instead of a ‘victimizing state of mind.’ I found solutions and saw my struggle as a blessing. Could you imagine if I stayed negative that whole time? That wouldn’t have done me any good, caused me to be even more stressed, not to mention the countless studies that have shown that you cannot truly heal yourself in a stressed state of mind.

What inspired you to begin this journey of #MadwellMindset by speaking on affirmations and positive thinking?

My journey started with MadwellMindset when I truly grasped the quote “be the person you want to see more of in this world.” When I was playing with that thought I began to realize the things I wanted to see more of in the world. I wanted to see more motivation, positivity, happiness, blessings, freedom, love, etc. I went to work at making sure I expanded myself in those areas. I began starving the things that wouldn’t benefit me and began acting like the positive outlook that I would want people to see in me and get inspired by.

What are some advice that you can give to women who are following your path or who are struggling to accept their flaws?

Advice to women that are following my path would be that Self Love IS a superpower. Love yourself fiercely, fully, and without hesitation. When you have self-love, it is respecting yourself and who you are fully, you set up how others should do the same. You own your superpower and don’t tolerate anyone who tries to take it from you. It takes practice… but interrupt those self-talks of negativity and defeat with victory and positivity! It’s hard sometimes and still to this day it’s taking me a lot of practice and daily pep talks whenever I look in the mirror. I no longer feed those horrible “flaws”, but I see myself as unique and whole all on my own. If you are struggling with accepting your flaws try this mirror exercise that I practice with my clients:

-Look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself you love yourself. Keep saying it until you mean it with every cell in your body. Then list the beauty that lies with your soul. What I typically tell myself in the mirror at least 2 times a day is: “I love you. I am confident. I am inspiring. I am strong. I am loving. I am giving. I am forgiving. I am one with all creations. I am passionate. I am compassionate. I am impacting.  I am healthy. I am whole. I deserve love. I deserve success. I deserve abundance. I can. I will. I must.” There’s a lot of times I add in other stuff, but this is a foundation of thoughts I feed myself.

You are the creator and founder of Tea Tuesday Social and Thankful Thursday Movement. What is the purpose of Tea Tuesday Social and Thankful Thursday Movement? Also, how can people find both movements on social media?

I get so excited talking about tea Tuesday Social and Thankful Thursday Movement! First off let’s start with Tea Tuesday Social. I have been playing around with the idea of starting this for a while. I wanted to create an environment that was fun, welcoming, supporting, and where you can grow. A little break down of what will be happening at these events:

Networking with other beautiful souls for the first hour while drinking tea and eating yummy snacks

Cute Instagram/Snapchat worthy floral backdrop

Getting out of a stressed mindset and ease into a relaxation state of mind

Grow Course on: Self Love IS a Superpower (August Topic)

Having the most amazing time surrounded by loving and supporting people who want to see you win ✔✔

Each month we will be having a new topic and occasionally have a guest speaker!

As for the ‘Thankful Thursday Movement’ it was something I have been doing for a while, but not on Thursdays and not once a week like I am now. As I have mentioned before on the quote that challenged my thinking “Be the person you want to see more of in this world” made me want to live in a thanksgiving state of mind more often.

When I think of Thanksgiving I think of being thankful, grateful, and blessed. During thanksgiving people go out and express gratitude to give back to others, but why don’t be bring that state of mind to every Thursday at least once a week? I am not saying it has to be on a Thursday, because whenever the opportunity to give back and express gratitude to others arise I do it, with no hesitation. Sometimes my weeks get really busy and I don’t get that opportunity to do it as casually, so Thursday are my day to find a way to give back.

Thankful Thursday doesn’t have to be about giving money, although a lot of mine have something to do with that. Expressing appreciation, gratitude, and being blessed goes a long way; like spending quality time and going out of your way to show this thanksgiving state of mind.

Examples of things I have done, that don’t require much money or money at all, are: volunteering for anything you possibly can to give back to this world, if you’re at the store and see someone who could use help… Go over and help with no hesitation, leave a loving note to someone you know or for a stranger, visit a senior home, provide your service to someone who could benefit from it. Other activities I have done are gift cards and leave them for strangers on their cars with a note, taping a note with cash on a gas station pump to provide someone with gas, buy a stranger’s meal, take a treat to a workplace (for teachers, police station, fire station, hospital, etc.) You can do so many wonderful things to express gratitude and love so let your creativity shine. I can assure you this is beneficial for you just as much as it is for them! What is a flaw that you have struggled with and how did you overcome it?

One of my biggest flaws I have struggled with growing up, and really until recently, is self-love. How I saw myself, the story I was telling to myself that wasn’t true. I struggled a lot with that. I thought I NEEDED to find my acceptance and love from other people, but little did I know I held that power all along. I had the power all along but was giving people that power which ended up doing more damage than it did good. This lead to depression, suicidal thoughts and attempts, abusive relationships, and just feeling like I was a black soul filled with nothing, but emptiness for the most part. I sold myself on the story everyone else was putting into my mind, I choose to allow my story to be how others wanted to see me. I didn’t have self-love or respect for myself so that triggered a lot of pain and hurt. That all changed slowly, but surely when I found personal development. The moment that made the biggest change was going to church and seeing myself the way God sees me. We were created whole, passionate, filled with purpose, and love. This really changed my view on myself and life!

What is one advice that you can give to women that you feel that every woman should know?

Advice I could give women that every woman should know is:

  1. Self-love is so important. Take time for yourself and learn to love every piece of yourself.
  2. We as women hold so much power, don’t let anyone take that away from you. If they try, politely walk away knowing you don’t need that negativity in your life.
  3. Don’t ever forget where you come from, your story and your qualities all make you unique. Don’t ever try to be someone else or ashamed of who you are.

Why do you believe that Women’s Empowerment is important?

Women empowerment is so important. From such a young age we compete with one another. Who has prettier hair, clothes, this or that. We hear men comparing us and we gave them the right to, because we were doing it first. We need to stop comparing and competing and start complimenting and encouraging one another. There is enough room for us all to be at the top, so please stop competing and comparing. We need each other’s help each and every day.

What are some future goals that you have for yourself?

I have so many future goals, but a few that I am working on is starting my Wine Not Succeed 12-week program that will be coming out during the Spring/Summer of 2019. I am also in the works of starting a nonprofit for children, but those take A LOT of time and effort. Which also requires more than just myself to get it going and having the right people be in alignment with the mission of that. Along with those goals I have modeling goals, relationship goals, financial goals, house goals, trip goals, networking goals, and the list could honestly go on and on!

Where do you see yourself in the next 5-10 years?

In the next 5-10 years I see myself traveling the world, hosting talks, seminars, and mentorship programs. My nonprofit will be up and going impacting the lives of our youth. I’ll be married and hopefully one or two kids within ten years. Lastly, modeling for some of the big companies that I have on my vision board.

The purpose of the Fabuluxe platform is to help women feel fabulous and sophisticated. What advice or words of encouragement that you can give to our readers about feeling fabulous as a woman?

Be your true authentic self. Don’t be afraid to express yourself in any possible way. Life is meant to be enjoyed in all aspects, so if you’re not enjoying it take time to reflect and change what could make your life more enjoyable!
